Setting Yearly Goals
Have you ever set a big goal for yourself but ended up feeling unmotivated and stuck as time went by? My hand is up. It happened to me in the past and I’ve seen it happen to many others too. When we set a big goal, we’re often too quick to pursue it, not considering the already overloaded schedule we routinely have, the sacrifices we might have to make, and the elements that already work well in our lives. Often, we just need to pause for a while, re-affirm our commitment, adjust our routines and lay some groundwork to...

The past 3 days I spent in the car driving from the North-Eastern part of the States, where I celebrated Christmas with my new family, to the sunny coast of South Florida. It was a long and tiring drive, but provided a good opportunity to reflect on the highlights of 2011 and to think of the exciting possibilities for the year ahead. Both my partner and I feel an incredible sense of gratitude for the past year, A year full of travel and adventure. After years of independent traveling, 2011 was a year of sharing the experience with a partner....

“If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will get you there.” ~ Alice In Wonderland. New Year’s Eve. Once again you’re about to make your annual set of New Year’s resolutions. You haven’t achieved last year’s but “what the heck” you say to yourself as you’re about to commit to another set of resolutions in the name of tradition. If this sounds familiar to you, you are not alone. Most people think about their goals and dreams too casually, eventually...

New Year’s Day. I love this time of year, if only because I let my mind wander free into the land of dreams and possible outcomes. Like painting on canvas, I start to sketch with broad strokes in different directions, opening myself to my fullest potential, daring to dream big. Options are endless but my heart desires focus. Experience has taught me that by being consistent in one area I’m able to extract more wisdom and enjoy the finest quality of focused attention. In previous years, my yearly focus had shifted from heavy...

“Are you going to travel forever?” This question has been repeatedly asked over the last year by other travellers who have heard that my business allows me to continue travelling indefinitely. I’ve been on the roads for last 10 months now and I’m obviously living, not only my dream, but also a one many others have. Travelling is a very pleasurable thing to do and definitely a big passion of mine. It has actually been non-stop travelling for me since I remember myself – my dad used to work on a ship, so I spent...

To me it feels like 2010 came and went so fast. I still find it hard to believe that I’m more than 8 months on the roads, travelling to places I only dreamed a year ago. Some of you know that around a year ago both my parents had a terrible car accident which left my mom in hospital for long time without the ability to move her neck. At that point of time, I haven’t seen them close to 3 long years. Every time I planned a trip another project popped up at work. Although I was very happy and grateful for the opportunity given to me...

So 2008 has officially ended with celebrations of Christmas and NYE with friends in Melbourne. It is actually the first time I celebrate my holidays in Melbourne, even though I live here for the last 5-6 years. As most of my close friends went overseas for NYE, 15 of us managed to have one last gathering in the Grampians, 3 hours out of the city, to spend a quality weekend in nature. It rained non-stop but it didn’t stop us to have absolutely brilliant time! There is really no better source than nature to...

Summer of 2008 was definitely an exciting one with 2 journeys coming to end: Becoming an Australian Citizen after 5 years in Melbourne and finishing a gruelling triathlon Ironman event in New Zealand. If the main focus in 2006 was drawn toward getting my masters degree and 2007 was all about socializing, being out almost every night, 2008 became a sporty year, training everyday, sometimes twice a day. My second main focus in 2008 was redirected onto business and more particularly on developing very strong internet skills. There is always a...
